The Original Website of Screen Actors Guild
On January 29, the Boston Branch of the Screen Actors Guild hosted its first annual SAG Awards viewing party at the North End’s Improv Asylum. Members enjoyed socializing with each other and with our industry partners, cheered their favorite films and performers, and received door prizes during each commercial break.
The audience erupted into cheers when the show featured a clip of local member Trudi Goodman in Gone Baby Gone during a segment recognizing the importance of actors in Branches across the country. The highlight of the evening came when SAG President Ken Howard announced that both national boards had overwhelmingly approved a merger plan, which will be mailed to members for a referendum on February 27.
Those in attendance at the Boston party immediately realized that the night had transformed from a fun gathering to one of historic significance and that we had all been privileged to experience the moment together.

SAG members gather to celebrate the 18th Annual SAG Awards, AND Boston’s 1st SAG Awards Viewing Party. See you next year!
