The Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners is holding one last special meeting about the proposed unionized Santa Fe Studios. If it doesn’t pass this meeting then the project in its existing form is dead.
It’s important for the New Mexico Film Industry to have a studio in Santa Fe. While we have a state-of-the-art facility in Albuquerque, we found on “Terminator” that one “franchise movie” can mean there is no room for another picture. Santa Fe Studios, with its smaller stages and lower roofs, will complement the Q facility and will benefit both cities.
Show Your Support
Please attend this meeting; bring your friends and family. Anyone who would benefit from a job in the film business would be a big help. The Industry really needs a strong presence there to save the studios.
When: 8:30 a.m., Friday, September 11
Where: Santa Fe County Building
County Commission Chambers
102 Grant Avenue (corner of Palace and Grant)
Santa Fe, NM
There is a train that arrives at 7:45 a.m. from ABQ. The downtown train station is within easy walking distance of the County building. If you are driving there is a parking lot under the new convention center about a block away (enter on Federal Place across from the post office). Car pool if you can.
