Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund

Program Description

The Screen Actors Guild Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund (SAG MPPWF) is an emergency financial assistance fund of the Screen Actors Guild and serves members in the New York region and all Branches East of Omaha, Nebraska which includes: Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Florida which includes members in Louisiana, North Carolina and Puerto Rico, Georgia, Nashville, Philadelphia and Washington-Baltimore.

The SAG MPPWF is designed to assist eligible members who are struggling with a financial, personal or medical crisis. Financial assistance is available for rent, utilities, mental health and medical care as well as other basic living expenses.

Program Eligibility

To be eligible for financial assistance from the SAG MPPWF you must be:

  • Living in the New York tri-state area or a member of one of the following Branches: Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Florida which includes members in Louisiana, North Carolina and Puerto Rico, Georgia, Nashville, Philadelphia and Washington-Baltimore.
  • A SAG member for at least six dues periods.
  • A member in good standing at the time of application or be vested for pension purposes.
  • Able to document a need for emergency financial assistance.

The SAG MPPWF contracts with the Actors Fund of America to administer the Fund for SAG members living in the New York Tri-State area and in the following branches:  Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Florida which includes members in Louisiana, North Carolina and Puerto Rico, Georgia, Nashville, Philadelphia and Washington-Baltimore.
