LOS ANGELES—Hollywood’s acting unions aren’t quite arguing for the right to lie about your age. But they seemed to come close on Thursday with a statement condemning the Internet Movie Database—IMDb.com—for routinely posting actors’ ages on its widely used Web site.
The posting of ages has long been a sore point with actors (and lots of others in Hollywood, as those who have reported here know), because, as the argument goes, producers and studios are biased toward the young.
